The wired Advanced Remote Control (ARC) is designed for direct access to your most used actions and commands in your studios daily work.

The extremely flexible configuration through TotalMix FX simplifies your workflow and will greatly increase the usability of the RME interface in any real-world situation. The ARC can be used with all of RMEs Fireface UCX built after June 2011 or higher. The remote control is housed in a solid metal case with controls which include a main encoder dial 2 push buttons and 6 LED-equipped buttons. The ARC connects to the main interface via a 5m cable and special connector on the back of both units. Use the rotary encoder to change various parameters such as gain and volume. The left button Prog can perform several functions and is programmable. The upper 6 buttons include an LED to signal their current state. The ARC provides default settings for the 7 programmable buttons but can also be freely configured via the Key Commands dialog box of TotalMix FX. Several functions can be activated at the same time and a fixed set of functions is activated when there is no TotalMix FX on the host computer. Windows or Mac The Firface UC uses two different firmware versions with different transfer methods to remove current restrictions of typical USB audio interfaces. The units operating mode Win or Mac can be changed directly at the unit at any time. Under Mac OS the Firefaces MIDI ports are class compliant the operating system therefore automatically uses the included MIDI driver. Under both Operating Systems the available latencies are impressive. The smallest buffer offered under Windows has 48 samples under Mac OS X 14 samples. With this RME provides a performance previously not available from USB audio interfaces. Integrated DSP Mixer All inputs and outputs can be freely mixed routed and distributed with RMEs MIDI remote controllable TotalMix software where up to 9 totally independent stereo submixes can be set up. All the output channels and every submix channel can be recorded directly and without external cable loops. The DSP based hardware calculates RMS and Peak levels for all channels without causing any significant CPU load. Inputs and Outputs Eight analog inputs and outputs (all balanced except outputs 7/8) with software controlled reference levels (-10 dBV +4 dBU Lo/HiGain) realised discretely in the analog domain ensure the highest dynamic range and fidelity. The Fireface 802 comes packed with two headphone outputs on the front rather than one. Apart from this the overall design is similar to the Fireface 800 but with a more modern soft and clean look. Inside the unit SteadyClock technology provides perfect sound quality just like in the Fireface 800 although nearly everything else has been changed. The very latest AD/DA converters have a better signal to noise ratio 192 kHz support and a 118 dBA dynamic range on playback which also applies to the headphone outputs. The RME Fireface 802 has 4 analogue microphone preamps with manual gain settings enabling ultra fast access and a speedy setup. Windows or Mac The Firface UC uses two different firmware versions with different transfer methods to remove current restrictions of typical USB audio interfaces. The units operating mode Win or Mac can be changed directly at the unit at any time. Under Mac OS the Firefaces MIDI ports are class compliant the operating system therefore automatically uses the included MIDI driver. Under both Operating Systems the available latencies are impressive. The smallest buffer offered under Windows has 48 samples under Mac OS X 14 samples. With this RME provides a performance previously not available from USB audio interfaces. Integrated DSP Mixer All inputs and outputs can be freely mixed routed and distributed with RMEs MIDI remote controllable TotalMix software where up to 9 totally independent stereo submixes can be set up. All the output channels and every submix channel can be recorded directly and without external cable loops. The DSP based hardware calculates RMS and Peak levels for all channels without causing any significant CPU load. Inputs and Outputs Eight analog inputs and outputs (all balanced except outputs 7/8) with software controlled reference levels (-10 dBV +4 dBU Lo/HiGain) realised discretely in the analog domain ensure the highest dynamic range and fidelity. Inputs 5 to 8 on the rear feature RMEs proven level references -10 dBV +4 dBu and Lo Gain can be selected in the settings dialog equivalent to +2 dBV +13 dBu and +19 dBu for digital full scale. The same applies to the balanced rear outputs 1 to 6. The hi power phones output offers high volumes even with low impedance headphones. The coaxial SPDIF I/O (up to 192 kHz) is fully AES/EBU compatible. SPDIF can also be accessed through the optical I/O. Preamps The Fireface UC features 2 balanced mic inputs with a digitally controlled input stage individually switchable 48 V phantom power and Neutrik Combo connectors for XLR and TRS (that can also be used as additional line inputs). A pre-amplification of up to 65 dB (adjustable in 1 dB-steps over a range of 55 dB) exceptional EIN (Equivalent Input Noise) performance even at low pre amplification settings and extremely low THD+N allow these preamps to surpass many reference devices. All level settings are 100 reproducible and can also be comfortably adjusted by software.
